Space Shuttle Endeavor at the Science Center

We have really enjoyed the California Science Center in the past,

so we explored it some more.

We played with thermal imaging.

We tried to build a building that could withstand an earthquake

(not as easy as it looks)

We learned some cool facts about animals.

Relaxed at the Kelp Forest Aquarium,

With some big fish,

Nap Time?

But the real reason for the visit started back in September 2012,

when we watched the Space Shuttle Endeavor do a fly over,

on the way to it's new home.

Now it's home!

They are still working on it's house,

but we got the chance to get up close to it.

Venice Beach and Santa Montica Pier

Earlier this spring we spent some time playing tourist around home.

We went down to Venice Beach.

We checked out the cold waves (dipped our toes in).

Walked down the boardwalk to check out all the characters

(we were too distracted by all the fun sights to take pictures).

Played more in the sand.

Some good family time!

Then we cruised over to the Santa Monica Pier,

Watched a beautiful sunset.

Road the Ferris Wheel, so much fun to see the lights at night!

And passed out quickly on the way home,

it was a big day!

Snow at Angeles Crest

When we got some cold days, ok really it never gets that cold, but cold enough on the mountains just north of us, we get a bit of snow.

We miss our snowy mountains, so to get a little taste of what we once had, we head up the mountains to play for a day.

I get all bundled up.

Eat some snow.

Hike around a bit, even where there's not snow.

Sled down the hill.

Explore.

Take a lunch break.

No, Mom's not hitting AK, Papa just took the picture, while she gently brushes the snow off of his face, I promise. AK wasn't happy with face full of snow.
